SPRING BREAK- DRESS SHOPPING

Alrighty, it is almost time to say goodbye to spring break, but not quite yet.

Yesterday, Mom, Lauren and I were on our way to Houston to go shopping for my 8th grade banquet dress. I don't know if we were cursed, or threatened in a past life from Winnie, Texas, but every time we journey there, we find ourselves turning around because of car problems. Lights were turning on in the car, cautioning us to go slower, cause I guess we had break problems?? I don't know but it didn't make me happy. at all. So we turned around, and decided to go to Park Dale Mall. Not as awesome as Houston, but hey --- we had to reduce down to something and I am NOT goin to Wal-Mart !! :)
SOOO once we made it there, we began to look at dresses. ----- EVERY SINGLE ONE IS SLEEVELESS!!!!-----
i mean, people told me about this seamstress that could add sleeves with the same color material and stuff, but I was hoping to find at LEAST 3 dresses that I wouldn't need a seamstress for. WOW. I learned a lesson about what the world thinks is formal. Sleeveless. Oh and WHY do they leave the dress unfinished?? I'm not going to wear a dress with a gaping hole in the back!!! Oh, it was SUPPOSED to look like that?? the new style is the UNFINISHED style? LAME. Every time I saw a pretty colored dress, I would say, "Wow, I would totally get that if it had sleeves, and no holes in it!! Oh and it might be a nice touch if they lengthened the dress a couple feet." SO yeah. BUT --- I did find two possible dresses that I could add sleeves to, if I can't find any in Houston later. WISH ME LUCK! I hope to come back with a BEAUTIFUL, FINISHED, LONG, MMOOOODDEEESSST DRESS.

ESCAPADES

This year was my first year EVER to go to Vidor Escapades (its pretty much a big talent show/competition for all of Vidor). It was SOOOOOOO fun!! I enjoyed watching everyone's talents. it made me wish I tried out, but I figured it was probably better that I watched escapades before trying out.BROOKE OLDBURY did an amazing job at singing "Jar of Hearts," and totally out sang this other girl who sang in senior division with the same song!! SARAH PACKARD was unbelievable! She wrote and sang her own song called: Ferris Wheel. It was so good, I could have heard on the radio and loved it, no kidding. It could have been a hit song. KARA PACKARD sang: Footprints in the Sand, and sang it beautiful as usual. LOVED IT!! THE CHILTONS were soo professional, It was not even fair if they competed!! Unbelieveable. They did all variety acts, but they were the most amazing ---ugh no words can describe it. MADISON MARINO, a fellow squad leader (of drill team) of mine snatched first place in juniors division by performing a twirling routine. It was absolutely beautiful, and she didn't drop the baton once!!! )QUITE IMPRESSIVE)..and my beautiful cousin that loves me the most: JESSICA HEALY won OVERALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was not very surprised though. Her performance was amazing! She played the fiddle 100000000000000000000 miles per hour, and was still able to do a little cotton eye joe dancing with her feet. she was soo fun to watch. After all of the performances, I liked watching people from the audience do karaoke. I felt as if I knew everyone in the auditorium. It felt like a big, talented, Vidor family that I never wanted to leave. It was so fun to dance crazy in our seats, and sing YMCA. Joseph (my lil bro), and William Fawcett(Josephs bff) were dancing in the aisles to YMCA and goin crazy!! I was right next to them and noticed Joseph doing the jerk, William doing some spazz out dance move, and both of them SCREAMING the words at the top of their lungs!! It was hilarious. I was seriously thinking I was going to die of laughter. SO anyway, that was my first escapades, and I hope I can try out next year... I want to sing something that best shows off my voice... but what song would that be? Well, I will find out in the next year, I'm sure. :)
